Michele - I may run out today.  If so, no worries.  With 2 adults and 10 kids, I'm getting a huge daily load.  I have someone coming over at 2 to get some, and I can let you know how much is left after that.  How much do you need?

I'm home for most of the day.  Come on by.

We would love to come by and get some. And also to meet the new goat kids!

Free Rabbit Manure - You Haul

Need some fresh rich fertilizer to amend your garden soil? I have a LOT of rabbit manure that is free for the taking. Bring your own buckets/bins. I have a shovel you can use. I'll be home most of the day today. Unfortunately, I won't have a lot of time for visiting. I'm having a dinner party tomorrow night so I'll be busy straightening up inside and out.

Contact me directly for the address and to let me know if you're coming. At some point I have to run to the feed store and would hate to miss you

There's a new community garden in East Oakland at King's Estates near Golf Links and 82nd Ave. If anyone's interested email me for details.

Hi Michele,

I've heard second-hand that there are 3 ways of dealing with it:

  1. Check under leaves to see if there are eggs and larvae and remove them.
  2. Plant strong smelling vegetables such as garlic next to cabbages to repel them.
  3. Make a mild garlic spray from blended garlic and water (you can find recipies in the Seed Exchange Group or on Google). Also to repel them.

I would check in a gardening book to verify that these methods work, but what I've heard from other gardeners suggests it does.

Hope this helps.

Tomorrow (May 7th) is the N. Oakland Plant Swap. This should be a great place to get plants for your summer garden:
